Fatal Bus Accident at Githurai

19th November 2013  Four people died and several others were injured at Githurai 45 black spot  Those who died were traders by the roadside and people waiting to board buses.

The accident happened at 4 pm.

Traders are at risk as they hawk besides the road. A kilometre away there was Police check accompanied by open traffic court. It is not yet established whether the driver wanted to jump the kerb to avade arrest. 

 

Machakos - Nairobi Fatal crash claim six lives on 17/11/2013

Six people are confirmed dead in Matatu and Lorry accident along Machakos-Nairobi road.

 The head on crash occured nnext to Cai resort, close to Machakos town on Sunday 17th Nov. 2013 at 3pm.

Several casualties were rushed to hospital with varying injuries. 

The Nissan matatu was travelling from Machakos when it tried in vain to overtake.

 

 

 

EASY COACH AND A TRUCK CRASH AT SALGAA BLACK SPOT ON 11th November 2013 Killing Scores of Kenyan travellers.

At least 7 people died instantly on Monday evening at Migaa, when a bus and a lorry collided head on.

 Easy Coach bus company was badly damaged by the huge impact from the loaded truck.

Many occupants of both vehicles were badly injured.

Bus accidents are happening every week not only on Kenyan highways but in cities where speed are lower. Mutindwa train and Kisii Classic Bus being recent accidents.

It took time before Police rescued Passengers trapped in the wreckage.  Bus and truck drivers were among the dead.

Provincial Traffic Enforcement Officer Ms Mary Omari reportedly warned drivers who speed in wrong places. 

The accident occurred at Migaa along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway. The PTEO urged drivers to be more careful

Motorists Association of Kenya has been urging the Ministry of Inflastructure & Transport  KeNHA to dualise the deadly section saying that the many deaths happening at the narrow section are a very high price to pay for badly designed road. The steep incline is a recipe for accidents every time. A divided dual highway with a middle division would prevent head on crashes. MAK Accident Monitoring Desk

 

MURANG'A MATATU ACCIDENT 13th November 2013

A toyota matatu overturned in Murang’a town Bus Station injuring Gitugi Girls' Secondary School girls.

Reportedly the breaks of the matatu failed abruptly.

The driver saved the situation for acting fast in turning the vehicle on an embarkement to avoid hitting commuters waiting at the bus stop down ward

NYAMIRA - Kisii Six people died on the spot Wednesday 06 November 2013. Incidentary the buses belong to same company- Nyamira Express bus Service

The driver was among the dead.

It is said the driver was trying to wave the other but instead lost control
