Those who drive have been getting a raw deal in poor quality repairs and cannot afford to sit and watch as insurers in ‘cost cutting’ hibernating as “risk management” measures, introduce a prejudicial policy of third party doubtful supply of spares to their detriment. Vehicle owners don’t get value for the billions they pay collectively to insurance companies since all the time they divest in real estate and other investment at our expense leaving too little for compensation. Insurance Regulatory Commission IRA must stop protecting insurers margins alone but also ensure that policy holders do not a get raw deals as is the case now.

Garages must commit to only use genuine spare parts in their repairs. As an advocacy organization, we won’t fail to hold them responsible if they compromise on quality works. Claims of the introduction of cheap spares supply will not be allowed since cheap is expensive! Policy holder pays enough for original and genuine parts, not second-hand second generations parts which in some cases will  Involve bogus supply; reviving dreadful carjacking for spares.

We shall also hold responsible IRA for supporting compromised repairs in the guise of cost cutting by the insurance companies. The regulator must now reign in fraud within the assessors, insurance company staff, brokers and police.

Our position is that only above board vetted garages should repair accident vehicles. They should also use their expertise to identify genuine spares from fake ones.
