National Transport Safety Authority Traffic  Law Enforcement Campaign
Phase two of the “Safety First” campaigns is scheduled to begin on 11th November, 2013 and will run till 31st January, 2014. The campaigns will focus on three things;-
a) Speed and Speed governors
b) Safety belts and
c) Condition of tyres. It is my hoped that this time all officers involved in this important exercise will stick to the agreed items as it is our belief that these are some of the major causes of road accidents.

To supplement the digital Traffic Lights Nairobi County has installed Surveillance cameras. This means that motorists who jump the lights will be captured. Its common among drivers to drive through when lights are red as far as there are no vehicles. This now will be tricky because once caught by camera it will be guilty as charged due to documentary evidence showing even identification plates. However it will be tricky for courts because traffic police allow drivers to drive through red lights.
